​Description:
Bogata Texas may be a small town . . . but it has a great big God!  We do many weekly activities ​in hope that God is glorified by the students here at First Baptist.  Each Sunday we meet at 9:30 am for Sunday School and each Wednesday at 6:00 pm for our evening service.  Wednesday night is very important for the life of this group.  If your child comes to anything we do, please make sure they are here on Wednesdays!



The reason we exist:​

To create Biblically rich and exciting weekly events that invite the Holy Spirit to motivate students to walk daily with Christ so that the Father is Glorified.  



Our Mission or Goal:

• Enjoy - Since this is a whole Church ministry we have people of all ages and backgrounds helping with our youth.  We enjoy this age group and want to see them excited for what the Lord can doing their homes, schools, lives, and careers.   The whole Church enjoys Student Ministry.

• ​Expose - Since the Gospel is greatest thing any person could ever know and believe, we find it imperative that each student is exposed to it each week.  It is our commitment that our fist priority within this group is the preaching of the Gospel.  We do not apologize for it and will not back down from it.  Our aim is to preach Christ and Him crucified.  This, above ALL else, do our students need to know.  (For a summary about what the "Gospel" is, please see the "Link" page)

• ​Engage - Almost 90% of all students who grew up in a church home leave the church, never to return as soon as they graduate.  While it is staggering, it is also motivating to us.  FBC Bogata recognizes the need to get these students engaged into ministry now before life happens after High School.  We look for areas where theses students can be plugged in and take ownership of a specific role for the church. 

• ​Encourage - We want each student to be encouraged, prayed for, and held accountable for their Christian walk by someone specific throughout the church.  This helps out in many ways: 1.  it gets the whole church into student ministry.  2.  It ensures there is no disconect between the church and the youth .  3.  It helps with Students who have very little parental involvement in their lives.  Our adults show them they matter.  4.  It gives the students an accountability partner with a wiser older adult.  5.  This type of mentoring relationship encourages the faith with in the student to deepen.   We invest in them because God has invested in us!

• ​Equip - Since there is a war ragging in the world for our Christian Worldview, we want to do our best to equip the student for a life that honors Christ and a mind that is able to "make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you" 1 Peter 3:15.  College is not an easy place to be a Christian.  One of our goals is to equip each student with the Word of God so that they can fend off the onslaught coming at them from a non Christian world out side.  College is a brutal place for a Christian.  We want to prepare these students with a heart and a mind that can stand firm.  Here is a documentary about how hard college is on Christians:
